Looks like a dislocated knee

I have a 7 week old turkey and his knee bends the wrong way. The thigh faces one way and the shin faces another. The skin looks like it's about to break. I've taken the bird to the vet and they told me to just get a new one.

Are you sure it's the knee and not the hock?
Slipped tendon aka perosis is not uncommon in broad breasted turkeys that are fed chicken starter.

If your vet isn't willing to treat it, culling it is probably the best option.
