Looks like blood

While I was feeding my chickens a snack I noticed that a chicken had blood or something dark in its stool but also had the formed stool too. Eating crumbles,grass,bugs, and behavior and activity normal. Any helpful ideas as to what may be going on and do I need to seperate it?

have you treated for worms?

sometimes worms can cause blood in the droppings..
cocci does, too.

slight possiblity it was something the bird ate.


keep an eye on the bird..

if you can take a fecal sample to a vet for fecal float, that would tell you which to treat for.(cocci or worms and what kind of worms)

Thanks my vet is also a farmer so I'll give him a call, didn't even think about him.
