If one of the roosters is red/gold and not barred and the hens are barred, you will produce chick that will be sexable by feather color and can provide a lesson in genetics for the kids also

Oh, Hen! I agree. It would be absolutely TERRIBLE if you got the kids hopes up and they didn't hatch because you didn't take the responsibility of doing a test-run. SURELY just a dozen or so in the incubator as a test run to make sure everything is in proper working order...
