Looks like one of my hens hurt her leg -- what to do?

One of my hens was in the coop sitting on top of the nesting boxes. When I came back out again she was out in the yard but laying down. When we picked her up and put her on her feet she would only put weight on one and clearly has an injury to the other -- I'm guessing from flying down off the top of the boxes. What do we do?

Examine the legs and joints for any swelling or bruising, and check the foot pads for a black dot and swelling that could mean bumblefoot. Put her in a cage inside the coop or run with food and water. Put a B Complex vitamin tablet into the water daily. Take her out once a week and see if she is walking better. She may need caging for 2 weeks if she has a bad sprain, and possibly longer for a break.
