In 4 weeks I'll be a mother again for my 4th brood of baby chicks.
I've lost 2 broods to coyotes and re-enforced my pen. The 3rd brood was the worst loss.
Had a beautiful Rooster that caused one of my hens to sit on several eggs. My neighbor, a jerk, even his wife left him, worked nights coming home a 5:00 a.m. when my rooster aroused the neighborhood, live out in country. One early morning when he got home he went into my yard and opened the gate to the coup. When I got up they had all been attacked and ravaged by coyotes.
I confronted him and he did not deny it. Once, when they went into his yard, he was pissed. The next day he had a model of a chicken statue on the property line. He moved away. Thank You.
