HEY GUYS,
I AM BACK! I am about to give up on chickens. My chickens have had everything. I have a clean run, I clean coop every other day, (sand) They don't have lice or mites. No worms either. I change water every day, I feed 16%layer feed and give more protein about 3x a week. (Boiled eggs, tuna, mealworms.)
As you may remember My head girl couldn't get rid of sour crop so we gave her a humane exit. She was starving so we thought it best. (Two weeks ago)
Now, my second in charge is loosing feathers like crazy. It just happened TODAY. I can literally pull feathers from her. I asked about her having a bare breast with a small scab. I was advised to cover the roost with a cloth and did. I picked her up today and she is BONE SKINNY. I am in my run several times a day. I have been trying to let my rooster in with the girls a little at a time but he is young and they run him off. Yesterday My Patsy and him had a little spat which she won. Nothing serious just 4 chest bumps. He ran away. She hasn't been as forthcoming but I thought it might be her getting adjusted to the flock leader passing.
She runs for treats but I haven't noticed if she has been eating well at all. I have been preoccupied with my Bannie with the corn in the crop!!! SHEW!!!
These pics are her breast, poop, and face. Please help!

Are you sure she didn't pluck those out herself? Has she been spending lots of time on the nest?
She doesn't look bone skinny. She looks to be in good weight.
She has a lesions on her breast. She really is very skinny. I pick her up and the feathers just fall everywhere. This morning Her face is a bit swollen. I was ready up on it. Fowl pox??? Someone suggested the lesion could be from rubbing the roost so I covered it. I am not sure what to do now
