We had 2 roosters and 1 chicken for a couple of years that always stuck together. Then this summer we got 30 new hens, and I saw the rooster get in a pretty big battle.
The loser has isolated himself in the old coop, while all the others are free range.
The rooster call back and forth to each other, but after a couple of months, the loser, recuperating from some leg wounds, still keeps to himself. He comes to me when I call him and I always feed him, when the others aren't around, although he had food and water in his coop.
My question is, will he ever integrate back with the others, or stay isolated forever?
