I am having a problem with my chickens. Lost a young hen on Monday...noticed her laying down in the dirt..moved her to another area with food and water...she did not eat or drink...noticed she had diarea...she died within 2 days..Yesterday notice an older hen sitting in the dirt...she was drinking water but not eating..moved her to another area with food and water...not sure what is going on? Can laying pellets or scratch go bad? Cleaned whole chicken coop today top to bottom. Is it ok to spray bleach and water and let dry..will this help with any disease?

I'm not sure what's wrong. Feed can go bad if not stored properly. You want to make sure it's in a covered, dry container otherwise it will get moldy, rats will go in it, and so on. Bleaching feed & water containers is definitely a good thing to do since it will kill algae & bad bacteria. Maybe someone with more knowledge will help. :) Hope you figure this out!
