Losing One hen a day

Losing one hen a day to something. Thought at first it was the roos that were 5 to 8 and attacking my girls 3 to 1 at a minimum. So culled a few roos. Still one a day completely missing. Some feathers around but now completely vanishing...mid day! They are free range. Any thoughts beside sitting on back porch w pellet gun or 12 gauge?

Keep your chickens penned up, sit on the porch with the shotgun and stop free ranging until you get the fox/bobcat/coyote/whatever critter is eating your birds. It will not quit until it gets the last one. Good luck.

Sounds like some critter has found its easy meal for the day. Let them out on a day when you can be sitting hidden and waiting with a gun loaded and ready. Good Luck hope you find the culprit soon!
