Loss of a top beak

One of our beloved farm chickens lost the top of her beak. She has her tongue and her lower beak. Will the top beak ever grow back? Is the stress of her beak loss causing her to drop all of her feathers. We hand feed her daily and she is coping with it, but do beaks grow? Help, we know nothing about chickens.

I believe they wont grow back. I think tips of the beak do but not the whole thing. I have 4 de beaked sex links and it looks like they will always be like that. I will always love them though.

It depends on how far back that it broke off...a debeaked chicken's beak won't grow back because it's cauterized when it's cut.
