Somehow, 2 of my white Leghorn chicks died this morning. They were both near one of the feeders and flat on the floor. I can't think of anything that would have killed them so suddenly except getting trampled when I placed the waterer back in after cleaning it.
I decided it was time to move them out to the new brooder in the barn. They have a lot more room in there to get out of each others way. Not to mention less noise to deal with from my daughter and the dogs.
On the bright side, tomorrow is hatch day for a dozen home-grown chicks in the incubator. I can't wait to see what it is I've waiting to see for the past 3 weeks.......will they be Delawares...? DExRSL crosses....? DExBR crosses..........???
