Lost 4 month old Pekin Duck & Need One ASAP- Gainesville Florida

Unfortunately, I lost a white pekin duck this morning to a fox or something in the creek. I left both ducks and two turkeys in the creek and checked on them two hours later and found one duck and two turkeys back up near their home/cage together.

The remaining white pekin single duck have been in a shock and calling/looking all day and had a miserable/sad day today.

Does anyone have a 4 month old white pekin duck I can purchase in Gainesville, Florida ASAP? I have not told my son that his duck is gone.

Is it ok to bring a wild non-pekin duck from the natural pond areas from around here, if they get along and willing to come with our duck? Should we raise another pekin duck and keep them separate until she is grown so the older one will not pick on her?

So many Pekins dumped in ponds if you can go get one maybe 2 please do. They needs homes. Just be sure to decide if you want drake or duck before you rescue. Very sorry for your loss. Better keep your remaining home what ever got your duck will be back. Try a kiddie pool safer.

We will search in the public ponds for a white duck, similar to it. If we get a baby duck, I do not think she will get along with a baby duck; she chases the turkeys when she can.

We put their cage in the shaded area so she can spend more time inside.

We set 3 traps in the creek. The food was gone from the traps. The trap did not engage in one and in the other 2 they grabbed and got away quickly. We will tie the chicken drumstick in the gage to make it harder to grab and go.
