Hello!
So to start off we hatched 2 healthy ducklings last month. They were so sweet and always stuck together so we named them Bonnie and Clyde. However, yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. We let them out of their pen for some treats. I was unaware that my dog who is a terrier mix was outside at the same time. Even though he has never gone after any animals before, he suddenly came running and bit Clyde's neck, he died immediately. I was so shocked and heart broken, I sobbed for the rest of the day and just could not believe what had happened. I could never replace Clyde, he was so sweet and goofy. But my question is that our other duckling Bonnie, is now with a few of our older chicks but she seems to miss Clyde. Now she has no one to swim with in her kiddie pool. So I'm unsure whether I should get her a friend. Some people have said that she'll be fine because she has the chickens to accompany her. But of course chickens don't swim and play like ducks do. And if I were to get her a friend, where would I even get one close to the same age as her?
So please share your thoughts and any advice with me, it's greatly appreciated!

) and people who bought ducklings on a whim because of the cute factor or for easter might be getting bored and realise the mess and commitment they got themselves into so you may find a few looking for new homes now.
I'm sorry you and Bonnie lost your friend. Please get a few more. Ducks are so adorable.
