Lost enough *insert appropriate curse* birds.

Is your run pretty weak? Foxes are very lightweight animals and something that is crushing any decent run is unlikely a fox. Maybe coyote or dog.

Catching a fox or coyote with dead meat is a low-success attempt at trapping when there is live meat nearby. Use it's desire to get into the cage as your advantage. Provide an opening into the run through the trap.

She was only in a temporary run, and yes it was pretty flimsy. I did place the trap like it could be an entrance to the coop, in underneath.

Yeah I didn't mean to knock on you, just wanted to know based on the predator collapsing it. Keep us posted and don't be surprised if you have a bird of prey

Oh, no offence taken, no worries. I was kicking myself for using that run. I even had a cage in the shed, but I wanted the other hens to be able to see her and get used to her.

Bird of prey actually makes a lot of sense, theres a meat farm nearby, and the guy dumps all the "scraps" Into a big pit, attracting bald eagles, hawks, crows by the dozens, and I even saw a raven once.

Granted it also brings in the land predators, so its hard to say. Its the smell that made me think fox, not quite skunky but strong.

I just got a little bunny, too, she's pretty secure out there in an outdoorized ferret nation cage, but I don't want this predator poking around my little Pippi Brandybuck...
