Lost Mally :(

Just lost our 2 month old mallard duck (Mally). 2 fishers snuck up on her while she was feeding. Gave her a Jedi burial (burning) like she deserved.

Turns out it was actually a pair of mink, that took Mally. The death total is now at 3 ducks, 16 chickens. I can say though that one of the mink lost it's head to a 12gauge shotgun. I've set out traps to catch the other one, hopefully tonight.

Good luck at getting them. This is why I'm scared to leave my 2 ducks outside alone. They sleep in the house in their own bed. It's like they know when it's bed time and go right there. If we try and leave them outside alone they raise hell until someone comes outside and gets them or stays with them. Gotta love the compassion that they give. I'm sorry for your lost and hope you get that mink!!

Until you get rid of the threat I'd keep my flock penned up especially at 8 weeks. Of course there will always be threats but they know you have a free meal now.
