Lost my first

Lost my first pullet yesterday. The dog got loose and did what dogs do........
I was heart broken however, things happen, life goes on. Tomorrow my son will go buy 2 more......

It will happen again if your dog gets out. Good idea to secure either him or the chicks.

I lost one today as well. Pulled out of my drive to see a big dog i had not seen before. Then i noticed one of my RR in it's mouth.

I agree secure the chicks and keep dog locked up. I understand DS's new puppy killed 2 of my chickens now we make sure if chickens are out she is locked up if she is out chickens are locked up. Takes work but better then losing more chickens.

Your animals you can control to a degree... other peoples', not so easy
