Lost one of my black australorps :((

I found my beauty dead this morning with a broken neck. I went out to feed this morning and found her between the coop door and the kickboard. There is a ledge there that the girls love to roost on I just never figured one would fall inbetween it, We have fixed it so no-one will be hurt that way again, She was one of my favorites too. She was one that would jump up as soon as I sat down and snuggle into my hand looking for love.
I have buried her under my nut tree so I will always have beauty where she lays.
Ohh man I need to stop crying so I can get ready for work. I know this can happen that you lose one, but its still upsetting.

sad thing is when my computer crashed I lost my pics that I had on it , so I don't even have a pic of her anymore.

Well thats all around a sad story. Its even worse when the one to go is one of your favorites, i know how that goes. Sorry about your loss.

Well I am new to chickens.

But I have Australorps and Australorp/Aracuna mixes. My black birds are the friendliest to be sure. They come to me when I say chook chook and eat my shoe laces and follow me around. I far prefer them to the mixes which are not as friendly.

I am sorry for your loss. My chicks are just 6 weeks and I am starting to see personalities so I can imagine how sad a loss is for you.

May flowers bloom where she was planted.

One of our Black Aussies disappeared when we were on vacation a few weeks back. It's no fun to lose one of your chooks!

I like the idea of the tulips planted where she lays, I have some that need to be planted so it looks like my nut tree is going to have some tulips planted around it.

That way I will have this pretty tree and beautiful flowers as well to mark her spot
