Lost our female Indian Runner... Very sad :( and a few questions?

Hi all... We came home yesterday afternoon to find our female Indian Runner missing. Our male was in the coop with the chickens, so our son set out on the 4 wheeler to find her. He came back and said he found her and it wasn't pretty. I get to go bury her today, and I am not looking forward to it at all. They were our first pair of ducks ever and our son is very sad as are hubby and I. Our son would like me to try and find a friend for our male but I have no idea where to start. We bought these at a small animal auction in April. Will our male accept another duck? Should we get a female or another male?(we don't really care about getting eggs). Thanks for any input....

If you post a Duck Wanted ad in the Buy, Sell and Trade area, perhaps someone will have another duck for you.
