Lost track during incubation. Need help!

Ok so I made the mistake of not writing down the dates of key times like starting incubation, lockdown, and hatching. I wanted to hatch them close to a shipment of chicks I will be getting on the 10th so all I know is that the hatch date is within a week after the 10th of June. How can I determine an approximate date for lockdown?

I'd guesstimate the hatch date and count three days backwards.

Any time after two weeks you can stop turning. Once you see pips, up the humidity.

Would locking down too early effect them hatching? I dont want to cause too many to be stuck in the shell

I think this article would be helpful to you. It talks about candling and seeing when they are about ready to pip. Hopefully by doing this you could get a good idea of when to enter lock down so that they don't get stuck in there last days. Hope it helps.

That's a great article! I like to use air cells to guide me, but I know that can be daunting for a newbie.

An update for those who are watching this thread still. Out of the five eggs in the incubator four successfully hatched last night and this morning and one has no pecks in it so it may be a dud but I am leaving it for another day just in case it is a late hatcher.
