Hi, I have 8 chicks living in a container in my living room. They are about 5weeks old (since we brought them home from the store) and I just moved them into a larger box. They were living in a storage tote before. Tonight especially they have become extremely loud with squaking sounds. Is there any way to calm them down or get them to stop? Or even just a reason for all the noise? I've read about their egg song, but I don't think they are anytime soon going to be laying eggs, so I'm out of guesses!
Thanks

It could be they are loud just due to the change in living quarters. Is your brooder big enough for the number of chicks you have? Do they have the heat lamp at one end to keep them warm? Maybe if you could post a photo of their brooder, that would help us with an idea of what might be happening.

Thanks for joining us!

you could also try changing out the heat lamp bulb for a red colored one, that should help since it's not so bright.
