It depends on the breed... African, YES!! Oh my they are like foghorns lol :P

I think Emben are fairly quiet, I can't remember; I haven't had any other breed yet, so I can't say who else is loud....

My Embden and Toulouse and yes even my Buff female are all loud right now for some reason.. But my Embden wins the loudness contest. No comparison to my 2 roosters.
