Hi everyone, love this website and I am new to the chicken experience but am loving learning from all of you. We bought our first chicks in June 2014 and now we have our little village of feathered diva's and stud rock rooster's. I had no idea of how intelligent and easy trained chickens were, & they learn much quicker than our k-9's.

We produce our own veggies, herbs, & mealy worms for our chickens and I am hopeful to do things all natural if and when needed for a sickness of any sorts.

I'm very serious about doing everything right and hope to learn from the experienced backyard chicken lovers. Just want to say I am looking forward to growing in knowledge with you, have a great evening :)

Chickens ARE intelligent. There is a video on youtube of a chicken doing a "chicken version" of agility trials - slow but, precise. Also we've had more than one chicken person that successfully clinker trains her birds.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Sometimes I think chickens are more intelligent than a lot of people I know.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Hi Cindy, welcome to BYC!

Chickens are smart, just wait until they know you're hiding a treat from them and watch them figure out where it is, lol.

What breed of dogs do you raise? You might enjoy another forum here on BYC, it's for other pets & livestock (everything from cats to goats to alpacas):
