Hi All,

I'm a total "city girl" living in rural NC that wanted some chickens for eggs. I have some friends with a 10 acre horse farm that I had been talking to about putting a coop on their land with 2 or 3 chickens, so I could get my feet wet (chickens are not allowed in my neighborhood).

Well, two weeks ago we dove into the deep end...my friends were given a coop and 15 hens. None of us know anything about chickens, so this site has been magnificent for us!

Can't wait to learn more!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I was very busy this weekend cleaning my coop! I must say that I believe that a metal putty knife is the perfect tool for assisting with cleaning a chicken coop! I've been lurking in the forums on and off. I'm getting ready to try the "Vanilla Christmas Tree" fly repellant in the coop...the flies are horrible right now!! I still love this site...thank you everyone.
