Hello All!
I recently acquired 4 beautiful lavender orpington chickens, after building a little coop on my husband's farm, lol. We already have the itch to convert the old calf stall into a nice sized winter coop. That would also give us plenty of room to expand our flock!!

Being so new i have a ton of questions! It's been great stumbling across BYC so many times on my never-ending quest for answers, I look forward to learning from all of your experiences.
Lots of Cluck,
MrsBro

so glad you have joined us and congratulations on getting your own flock.

Sounds like another victim to chicken math, I am quite jealous, wish I had time and facilities to add new ones every year :)

Hi! Welcome Mrs Bro in Frankenmuth!

Most of the ornaments on mt Christmas tree came from Bronners! What a beautiful town you live in! Oh the memories. I'm from Howell. (Brighton area). I sure miss it but not the winters. Your Orphs should do quite well, they are very cold hearty and should be good winter layers. The Lavenders are so beautiful and sweet! You can type in your state in the forum search bar to find fellow Michiganders if you want to pop in there and say hi.

They may be helpful with regional husbandry questions such as wintering your flock, etc.
Hope you enjoy your chickens!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I'm glad you're enjoying your lavender orps! Orpingtons are my favorite breed of any chicken and my two favorite colors are buff and lavender.

Chicken keeping is sure addicting so I'm almost certain you'll be adding to your flock! When you do, be sure to ask any questions as the introducing part my be a bit challenging. But, we're here to help in any ways we can.

Good luck and welcome to our community of poultry lovers!

These are my little darlings. My mom always tells me they "look filthy", haha, she doesn't get that they aren't white! I wish I knew more about chicken keeping because I keep changing my mind about whether they may be all boys or girls, or a mix, haha... I love them either way!
