Hi all
I recently hatched a tray of mixed eggs. Any idea what breed these are?

Also any idea what colour eggs I would get from the 2 pullets, I got a lucky dip so I could have different egg colours

Hi Jed
I bought them of EBay and this was the description. Hope this helps.

Varieties I keep are ;
black rock
Rhode island red
Leghorn
Aracana
Ameriaracarna
Maran
Copper maran
Warren
Columbian red tails
To name but a few!

There will be a mix, so please don't ask for a particular breed, as the cockerels wife swap!

Gotcha. So these will be mixed breeds, then. I'm unfamiliar with Colombian red tails-- never heard of them. But the rest I know.

1 probably a Leghorn mix.

2 probably an Easter egger mix or maybe Delaware mix

3 red sex link (Warren) mix

4 This guy is huge. Thinking he is a meat bird like Red Ranger mixed with maybe the Warren.

5 I'm thinking Austra white mix.

6 Rhode Island red mix. Possibly with Easter egger.

Most likely the pullets will lay brown eggs. That's my guess but no way of knowing until the eggs start coming.

Thank you Jed 👍 really appreciated. I was quite concerned about #4 at one point, he was growing so fast and kept falling flat on his face trying to keep up with the others. He seems to have evened out now.

I'm not surprised, but glad he is doing better. If you plan on keeping him, he may need special care. Oversized birds often develop leg problems and it is recommended that they not roost very high up because it can harm their hips when they land.

That would explain why he hasn’t been roosting then, he tends to sleep under the nesting boxes. I will add a lower roost, and keep a closer eye on him. Thank you 👍

Hi @JedJackson @BastyPutt
I hope you don’t mind me asking, could you confirm these two polish are cockerels please?

This one is really poorly so these are the best pics I could get

It is only today since the have been inside I have thought cockerel. They are 8-9 weeks old

I think the frizzle is male. Poor thing. Some Polish varieties can be very sickly, including frizzles.

The darker one has a female shaped crest but the red on its face/wattles is concerning. Basty will be able to help better.
