I have a 1 year old hen who has been developing a lump on her neck. We've been noticing it for about a month and a half and it just seems to get bigger and bigger. She's still laying and acting very happy.
We brought her to a vet and they took a fluid sample from the lump and told us it didn't appear to be cancer but to keep an eye on it. Now it has almost doubled in size and she is constantly pecking at it. I'm planning on bringing her back in to the vet but wanted to get some opinions on what to do.

Should we spend the money to get it removed? Should we just let it grow and see what happens? Should we put her down? I don't want to see her suffer or choke her to death.

Was your hen vaccinated for Mareks disease? Tumors and cysts can be common in chickens, but especially in certain diseases such as Mareks as lymphoid leukosis. There looks to be a red cyst on the eyelid also. If the tumor starts growing quickly, it could really cause problems. But if it is Mareks disease, there will probably be more tumors.
