2 weeks ago my husky got into the run and killed a couple birds. Fence has since been reinforced. I didn't see any other injuries and everyone was acting normal.
I just noticed yesterday that my broody girl sitting on a clutch has a gash by her tail and a big lump close by where new feathers are trying to come out. She's acting same as any usual broody, still out once a day or so to eat and drink, still pecking anyone who comes near. I cleaned the wound, though it was pretty dried up, and am putting triple antibac on it now. Not super red, but worried about this big lump surrounding the three feather shafts coming out. It's pale, in between dime and nickle sized, and on her tail.
What is it?
Should I give her antibiotics? I have Tylan 200 on hand.
She's a year old Lavender Ameraucana
