I started a new thread for this because it seemed like a different problem. I have a lethargic chick with splay leg who was stumbling backwards constantly and couldn't lift her head up or hold her eyes open, and after research I think it's a vitamin E deficiency. I started her on vitamin water for chicks but in using the dropper to drip it into her mouth some got on her chest and I could see her stomach clearly due to the fluff being wet. She has two large lumps on her upper chest. Is that normal? One's slightly to the right and higher than the other. Up until this week I've had pretty good luck with chickens, the main thing being predators, so I don't know as much as a probably should about anatomy and sicknesses. I don't know if it's related to the vitamin deficiency or not, but I'm really worried about her.

You can post pictures of the lumps. One may be her crop where the food and water goes. She might have air bubble in her crop. Sometimes they can get a bump and have air leak under the skin. Is she having any trouble breathing?

She actually passed away earlier today. She had a lot of problems from shipping and not having enough nutrients. Even though she was obviously suffering from vitamin deficiencies, in the end she was gasping for breathe and having trouble breathing. Can that be an air bubble in the crop? I've never had this problem before and I want to make sure I can prevent it on other chicks if I come across it. Really sad I didn't see signs of anything in time to help her. :hmm

It could have been air under the skin (leaking air sac/subcutaneous emphysema) which can occur from a bump injury. It causes air to leak under the skin. Air can can be sucked out with a small needle and syringe, but it can re-accumulate and may need to be withdrawn again. Chicks can get air in the crop, but I haven’t seen that before. So sorry for your loss.
