Lyon Incubator, I won it...

Well, I won the Lyon Incubator in the auction. I am so excited. A number of very nice things have been happening to me lately.

It will be coming soon, and I will have a hatch in it the week after Easter.

Anyone who has one, if you have any advice for me, please share it, I mean about quirks that this incubator may have and so forth.

Lyons incubators are great. Before the fan went on mine, I had the best hatches out of any incubator I have had.(Still hoping to replace the fan soon.)

I had to look back through some posts to see which model you were talking about. I see it iis the Roll-X.

I'm not sure if this will apply to the Roll-X model but it has been noted on the Turn-X that when the turner is unplugged from the top of the unit it creates an unintended venting effect. This may make it difficult to maintain humidity just at the time that you need it most (lockdown). A piece of tape across the outlet will take care of the problem.

Have both roll-x and turn-x i use a Acurite temp,and humidity monitor, not the ones that come with it. Great hatch with it, you dont have to turn off the auto turner, it you hatch eggs at different times, dont worry about lock down with these, they recover temp and humidity FAST.

I place a drop of oil on the fan motor about once a month. to keep them from locking up...

Right now I am in Pittsburgh waiting for my daughter to have her baby, and I don't have the incubator yet.

So really, you can do a staggered hatch in the Lyon? Wow!

I do have some eggs coming next week.
