Make Chinese goose with tail up

My Chinese goose has had his tail up for the last couple days. Is this normal? He's molting but I've never seen it before

Mine are Toulouse, Buffs, and Romans but with them having their tail up is usually when they’re excited or nervous it seems.

Yeah I know he does it when he's happy but lately it's just been up every time I see him if he's happy or not

What breed (and gender) are the two with him? They're very pretty. It's breeding season, so if those are females, he may be feeling extra protective.

Yeah they're male Sebastopol African mixes and a Chinese Toulouse mix. He's only ever become mates with males though so maybe that's why.

He is the Man my saying my girls and you. Most of my ganders are short a few tail feathers this year (winner keeps the feathers). . You did a great job and he is doing his. Drakes have a curly feather (which goes missing when winner plucks the feather) Ganders have a tail he is just showing you he is the man.
