maybe a heating pad instead of a bright light. You can also hang a few feather dusters so that the feathers barely touch teh floor and the babies can go in between the feathers and stay warm, dark and feel safe.

If you make it dark they will sleep, we use a dull emitter (ceramic heat lamp) now as we found the visible light heat lamps kept the chicks active al the time ,they just had little sleep stops then back at it again. You must give them some light too but when it`s bed time turn the light off.

Ugh now they have all decided to start pecking at the walls of the cardboard box! Sometimes they get quiet and lay down and then I move and they start it all up again!!

Nothing like being a new mom and finding out everyone lied about babies sleeping all the time! About the time you are so sleep deprived that you want to throw them out the window, they will start quieting down and sleeping for longer periods of time. Just don't throw them out the window before that happens!

I finally started brooding my chicks outside so I could sleep. Took a few years to figure this out.

If you move them to another area of the sleeping room with their heat lamp etc.. you may be able to get some rest. But if you have other animals in the house that may harm them, make sure it is safe so there is no tragedies. Hope this helps...

I know how you feel. That chirping can really get to you.
Luckily, my chicks only chirped loudly the first night. From then on, they chirped only if they were too cold.
I ended up putting a hot water bottle in there with them and instantly they shut up. When they were warm, they were quiet.
Now they're a bit older and they're quiet when its dark.

Good luck. I hope you find a solution.

if there is more than one bathroom in the house - - - maybe you could put them in there at night and shut the door.

Ours were much quiter when we shut off the light. It is amazinz how much chirping the little girls do

brooding in bedroom=no sleep , move them just for the night time, even the living roob should quite your room up.
