Has anyone done this before? Not including the camper shell, about how much did it cost? And I would love to see some pictures if you have them!

TIA!

Hi there!
I did not use a camper shell, but used the same idea of a prefab metal roof..just much larger!
Used a metal carport roof to build my chicken house. The chicken house is still under construction, and is taking quite a bit of time since I am doing most of the work by myself in my spare time..and I am slow as Christmas!!
I have posted quite a few pictures of the construction process on my website blog page, if you would like to check it out. www.sunshineseramas.com

The camper shell idea is great for a small amount of chickens..you could set in on 4 corner posts and wrap it with wire for a really quick chicken house. And boards would fit nicely across the inside close to the top of the coup for night time roosts..very protected in there! Could roll the little windows open in the summertime for ventilation.

Isn't it fun to get creative with ideas for coups!

Good luck!

I mad one out of a small s-10 size truck cap worked out great. as far as for the building it all depends on how fancy you are wanting to get I used 2x3 for walls 2x4 for the floors and sheet siding that a lumber yard will have it still needs some work but I will post pics of it as soon as I get done moving. Best part is it fit in back of my full size truck got many funny looks driving down the road to the new place.

Hi, Wondering if you ever took any pictures of your camper coop. :)
We are trying to make a first coop on the cheap, and thought this might work out well.
Saw a coupe of old camper shells on craigslist for $20!!
Thanks.
