Making a Red Sex-link

I believe you use a male RIR to make a Red sex-link. The hen is a white hen of a different breed like a Delaware, White Leghorn, RIW, or other white breed.

Red Star/Red Sex Link:
RIR (male) X Delware (female)
RIR (male) X White Leghorn (female)
RIR (male) X Rhode Island White (female)
Production Red (male) X Delaware (female)
New Hampshire Red (male) X White Rock (female)

Cinnamon Queen/ red sex-link:
New Hampshire Red (male) X Silver Laced Whyandotte (female)

Gingernut Ranger/ red sex-linked:
RIR (male) X Light Sussex (female)

These combinations result in hens that are reddish with a few white feathers and roosters that are predominately white/ light colored with a few other colors in their feathers like buff, brown, and red.

You can not make a red sex linked using a commercial white leghorn. The white rock may also present problems. I would not use either for a red sex linked cross.
