Making more spangled birds from silver spangled hen?

Hi! I have one silver spangled Hamburg hen and would love more spangled birds.
Does spangling work like mottling?

Is it as simple as breeding the spangled hen with a black or blue roo and then breeding one of the sons back to the spangled hen?
