Hey y'all!!
How's it going?!

Anyways... Last week I had a hen go broody. (HAD) So I got some eggs from a neighbor and she sat on them only at night. Well I had 4 extra that would fit under her, can I use a heat lamp to incubate the eggs??
I am currently looking for a nice one but...they co$t a lot!!!!

And also if i can then it will be my science project for school.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!
THANKS AND GOD BLESS!

The hardest part of making an incubator would be the auto turning racks, and getting consistent temps throughout. Google "diy egg turner" and watch some youtube videos. Look at some diy incubator tutorials and get a feel for what you wanna build. I'm gonna try one out of a mini fridge soon. It will have two GQF style turner trays and two hatching trays, with auto turner on a timer.

I'm gonna try to turn them myself. I've never actually hatch any eggs without a hen so this will definitely be the first!!
Thanks!!

You can use anything to incubate as long as you can maintain a temperature around the eggs at 99.5F or as close to that as possible. Frequent turning is the second most important thing and then humidity - especially up the humidity the last couple days.

If the temp is low, the eggs will be late. If it is high, they will be early.
Constant temp at 104 will kill them. Constant temp below 97 will likely result in malformations.
