Hi, I'm a new member from Washington, Michigan. My lovely flock started on Mother's Day 2011 with 3 New Hampshire Red chicks. They grew up and we wanted to grow our flock too, so we studied different breeds and decided to get 3 new chicks of 3 different breeds. In Feb. 2012 we added Goldie an Ameracauna chick to the flock, she just started laying her little blue eggs today!! Next, in March, we got a Buff Orpington, we named her, what else? Buffy of course!! What a beautiful sweetheart she is!! She'll start laying soon. And last but definitely not least, the youngest is a Black Copper Maran. She is absolutely gorgeous!! Her name is Maran. She'll probably won't start to lay for another 3 months or so. I just love all six of them. They each have such different personalities. I'd like to have roosters, but, alas, we live way too close to town for the morning wake up calls.
