I know by about 10 weeks you can tell the sex of ducks by their “quack”. Can anyone tell by color? These 2 mallard ducklings will be 2 weeks old Saturday. My bantam hen hatched them. One is very yellow compared to the other. Any guesses?
Thank you!

You can't tell from plumage at this age. Even at 10 weeks it can still be tricky too tell. You can start to try voice sexing as early as 6 weeks though.
Is there any possibility that they're mixed or not Mallards? Usually Mallards are a bit smaller at that age but maybe it's just the picture

Ok thank you- definitely mallards I have the drake and females. I just had a broody hen so I let her hatch them. Well I guess I will just have to wait and see. I have 3 female mallards maybe the different color bc the eggs came from different females. I hope 1 of them is a female!
