Male guinea doesn't seem like himself.

So over the last few days I've noticed my male guinea doesn't seem as energetic as he usually is. I have 5 guineas that free range for 12 hours a day, and have always come home at night with no problems. Now my one male doesn't always stay with his girls and sometimes when he does go out with them I find him laying down while the rest of them are foraging. Is he just tired? I've checked his head, no runny nose, no sneezing, no swelling. I checked his vent last night, and didn't see anything. I thought maybe the girls were pushing him away, so I'm keeping them locked in their coop for the next few days since the weather is going to be nasty here in Michigan. Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any suggestions or help!

This is standard guinea behavior. Once the pairing has been set, the male guinea will lie down as the hen putters around him. There is a set distance that she is allowed to get away from him so she will work around him in circles as he lays there.

He's not doing the mating ritual. I've been breeding and raising them for over 2 years now. All he does is sit in their coop and acts like he's tired. He tucks his head down, closes his eyes and acts like he wants to sleep.

I think it might be respiratory. I've been watching him for the last hour in the coop. He's standing up tall and opening his beak. Even standing in place he's opening his beak like he's gasping.

i dont think the is something wrong about that, i had a middle age guinea male that likes the beak opeening. he does this especially when the young chicken chicks peck his wattles or the mother hen.
