Do they normally lose that green tint on their heads at any time?

I just noticed today that mine has--I had to do a double take between him and my girl.

Could be having an eclipse molt. It doesn't happen often this time of year, but its likely the cause.

Mine turn almost white in the summer when they loose there winter feathers ,then they get real dark with new feathers then they fade back too a medium brown.

Eclipse/nuptial molts sort of sneak up on you just like happened with your drake. One day you look and go "Hey, wait a minute ?"

That's exactly what happened. I had to do a double take. Even then I had to really look to see who was who.

yes, it's almost like we should band them with a name tag or something. I've got 3 older girls that I can't tell apart anymore.
