I have heard that the green beak may mean male? Pippin on the right is a Mallard with a beak that is looking greener. Puddles is on the left and he/she is either Khaki or a khaki/mallard cross. Puddles head is looking darker brown. Male possibly? Anyone know? Or still too early to tell. They hatched August 15th and 17th.

To me it looks like Pippins could be a male. We had 2 mallard ducklings hatch on June 30 and 1 had a black beak and the other green. The green beak one was a male. They are 2 1/2 months old now so we can tell by his feathers and voice. Ours are also khaki/mallard mix! Time will tell if Pippins is a male.
