We are coming to a time hen we might be able to let some young hens go to people already queuing for them. We are holding on until we can see for certain how many poults are hens because, apart from building the flock size, we need to increase the proportion of hens to stags in our flock.

Yesterday, a young local couple called asking to buy two young males. I explained why we weren't ready to sell any. They said that they had some ducks and penned chickens and wanted two stag turkeys as pets. Now, having seen the fights in our flock over the inadequate number of hens, I wonder whether two males alone is a good idea. Some advice would be appreciated, please.

I really shouldn't be posting on here because I am not sure but I think if there is just males and no hens it would be okay especially since they were raised together. Just my opinion!

I had to toms by themselves for the longest time. And they treated each other decently bit would gang up on other people ( not me ithink they knew I was boss). The only time they would fight with each other is if you hid them from each others view but they would quickly stop fighting

In most cases it probably isn't a great idea. But it could definitly work out.

Oh I really need to read more on this....I only have two young toms and I thought as long as I dont throw a hen in the mix then they would be fine, BUT these are my very first turkeys and they are only 3 months old.
So I need advice please

I have two rp toms (about 3 now) for the first year and a half they were alone. They did fight, more pushing and noise then anything,no one ever got hurt.

When I first got turkeys, I had 2 toms and they were best friends. When 1 of my Toms was coaxed down the street to my neighbor's house and never returned, the other Tom was depressed for weeks. He sat and waited at the driveway looking down the road at my neighbor's house looking for his friend to come back home. His friend never returned. With that being said, I never had any trouble with only 2 Toms. They always got along. They never had any fusses or fights. They were best buddies.

Awww, this breaks your heart! Did you get him another buddy?
Back to subject: I think the chances of them not getting along would be like any other animal - they either will or they won't. . . 50/50 chance.

No, I never got him back. My neighbor was coaxing him over there with corn to feed him. I think he killed him and ate him. I was so hurt!!!!

And yes, I got him 2 females. Since then, he has fathered 20 poults and he struts his stuff every day. He is happy now. But I still miss my other Tom.
