For the mallard (wild) ducks
Do the male fill in with "girly" brown feather first before the white guy feathers?

and what age
I really thought he was a girl til last week now I think she is turning into a guy

They all look like girls until about 10 weeks, when you start seeing the grey/white feathers coming in and the girls start honking instead of squeaking.

yep they all look like lil girls until their bill starts to change and for a lil while ull hav a ugly-cute duck on you hands until he finally becomes a beautiful drake!! same with grey calls!!
