Mallard Duck

Hello All

Please can you help me, My wife has a Mallard Duck. He will be 2 years old in July. Found him in the parking lot of a bank when he was just a week old.
The problem we have is his Nails. They are getting very long and I believe they need to be clipped. (1) is Should we clip his nails? and if so, How do you clip them and how short do we clip them???? And will clipping his nails hurt him?
Should I take him to the Vet and have them do it and show me how?? I have learned that Ducks are very very SMART I am disable, And when I'm in the back room having problems, He will take off running to the back bedroom, Letting My wife know that I need help. He has done this many many times. He is a great help for my wife taking care of me. I still don't know how he knows that I'm having problems. Very strange.

Basically you initially would just want to remove the points from his nails. If you have ever clipped a dog's nails, it is basically the same. That is a special duck!

I have read of dogs being trained to help people who have seizures. Somehow they can recognize the very first hints of trouble. What a blessing!
