Mallard ducklings red skin

I just got two mallard ducklings only a few days old after one of our campbells died, we had two and didn't want the one alive to be alone( shes only about a month old). The two mallards have very red skin and we asked the people we got them from about it they just said it was normal and all the other ones looked the same but I just wanted to be sure they aren't sick and if there's anything i can do to help them. I've put a picture here so you can see, one is more red than the other but they both have it.

Just put "duck thread," in the search box above and it will come up for you. I don't think I've ever noticed skin that color, looks like it's irritated.
