Mallard hen won't lay

Hi, I got two new ducks from a family in my town. We have a Mallard hen and a Khaki Campbell that are new to our flock. We also have a Rouen drake. The Khaki is laying like a champ (we have had them for two weeks now) but the Mallard has not yet. I have two duck boxes inside our coop for them to lay in the morning, and the two Khaki's that we have lay an egg a day.....so I am not sure, I have even gone on egg hunts around our property to make our mallard hasn't been nesting elsewhere.....nope. Any ideas on how I can get her to lay. She has acclimated with our flock very well, the one Khaki that is laying was raised with her, and our drake is very sweet to her as well....so I don't know, any ideas?

In my experience most mallards are seasonal layers - laying a clutch in the spring, going broody and raising a clutch of ducklings. Occasionally they will lay a second clutch later in the year. By taking the eggs as they lay, total production may be increased, but they will never lay like birds bred for egg production..

Thank you, and that makes total sense! The previous owner said she will often go broody when she lays her eggs....so here I am in middle fall waiting patiently for the eggs to come The broodiness is good because we plan on hatching our Khaki Campbell/Rouen eggs, and if we have a ready and willing participant, so be it!!!!
