Mallards disappeared/one came back

Well, the one lonely duck was content to forage with me, be in the pen at night, and otherwise keep a watch on the pond levee for its family. We had a thunderstorm and a good bit of rain--it didn't want to get into the pen, so I left it at the pond; afterwards it was gone, so I'm guessing it found its family. A neighbor down the road said that she had seen them in her yard at one point.
