I have a poult that pipped through the wrong end of the egg last evening (day 25), sometime between 4 and 7pm.
He made himself a nice breathing hole and has been chirping away for the last few hours, but has been unable to make progress, and has grown quieter in the last 1/2 hour.
I read the step by step guide to assisting the hatching. I strongly suspect a temp issue is what caused this, so I plan on assisting, but I don't want to act too soon.
He does have an air hole; I can see his beak when he pokes it through the hole.
His membrane, around the hole, looks like it is starting to dry out. The humidity is 85%, but he is not on a wet paper towel as I have not opened the incubator.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
