Mama duck and babies outside

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows how cold one week old baby ducklings can tolerate outside if they're with their mom. She's a great mom so far, but sometimes she sleeps with them tucked under or around her in the wet part of the coop near the waterers instead of the dry nesting boxes. It's supposed to get down to 42 this week. Unusual for May in NC so I wasn't expecting to worry about temperature. I've only raised ducks and chicks in brooders with heat lamps so this is my first mama duck to hatch babies. I hate to move them all bc it will be stressful for all of us , but of course I will if necessary. Thanks so much!!

Wild ducks and geese have hatched their clutches in the last two weeks and we have had freeze warnings at night for the last week.

Hope all is going well. I, too, would worry about the little ones. When I get too worked up about how I'm taking care of babies, I try to remind myself that birds have been caring for their young FOREVER and probably doing a better job than I am.
