New member with 6 19 week old girls. Two Buff Orpington, two Rhode Reds & two Australorp. I love them and can use all the help I can get to raise the girls and keep them safe happy and healthy.
One of my girls in the last few days has been scooching down when I approach her and let's me pick her up. Shes the oldest. She's also been going off on her own a lot. ( they free range 3-4 hours per day.)
Today she came out into the pen/run first thing with other girls then I noticed she went inside the coop and was sitting in one of the nesting boxes all by herself. I opened the side door an peeked in and she didn't make a sound. Her feathers were all puffed up and and she didn't want to be bothered. Should I assume she's preparing to lay her first egg? I'm sooo nervous for Her. Is there anything I should do?.
