mandarin ducks

hi group,i have not kept these birds in over 20 years.
i had them,in with many other ducks/chickens/peafowl,in a large enclosure.
i never remember them going into my pond.
for this,i was wondering if i could keep these ducks without a pond?
also,i had then,a fenced in yard,of some 12 feet high.
now i only have a picket fence,some 4 feet tall.
if pinioned,or wing clicked,could i keep a pair?

Pinioned yes they couldn't go over 4 ft if pinioned properly. It would be advisable for them to be able to bathe to maintain hygiene and feather quality. A few large Tupperwares or a kids pool would work.

I have a pair and they are pinioned. I have a 4' chain link fence, kiddie pools and they do just fine. Beautiful birds.
